Beverly Hills Hair Transplant Center Offers Affordable Hair Restoration for FUE Research Candidates
Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) January 31, 2014 -- Dr. Parsa Mohebi’s Beverly Hills Hair Transplant Center is offering special rates for FUE Research Study participants. The FUE Research Committee of International Society of Hair Restoration Surgeons (ISHRS) is conducting a FUE versus Strip Research Study that compares the benefits between the two methods. Although the strip method, also known as FUT, has been used in the field of hair restoration for many years, the more recent Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE) technique for hair restoration continues to be studied for the advantages it presents over the traditional method.
Follicular Unit Extraction is the method of obtaining hair grafts directly and individually from the patient’s donor area. This allows patients to receive a hair transplant with no scar and little discomfort to the donor area. Due to the continuous improvements made by hair transplant surgeons, the success rate of the follicular units being extracted and transplanted for each hair transplant has increased. However, there is still need for further research regarding this technique, which includes survival, quality, and thickness of the extracted hair, and how it compares to the strip method.
Patients who wish to participate must meet with Dr. Mohebi for an initial consultation where they will be evaluated to determine if they qualify for this study. Dr. Mohebi explained, “Candidates for the study should not have had any previous hair transplant procedures, or if they have had any, they must have an untouched bald area on the scalp measuring about 3 by 3 cm. Also, they must be okay with receiving a little spot of tattoo, in order to compare both methods at the time of the next follow up appointment.”
Depending on the procedure you choose, you will receive 140 complimentary grafts of the opposing procedure. Patients will also receive an additional incentive for their participation in the study. Dr. Mohebi feels that an incentive is needed for the patient’s time and commitment, “Due to the amount of reserved time the patient must set aside and their considerable involvement, our offices in Southern California are now offering discounted hair transplant costs for a limited time. These discounted rates will be available only for a short period of time in order to identify and recruit potential candidates.”
