Rihanna, Pink Songs Most Likely to Be Seen on a Music Stand in 2013
Madison, WI (PRWEB) February 04, 2014 -- The smash hits “Stay” by Rihanna and “Just Give Me A Reason” by Pink were the top choices for musicians to play in 2013, according to Musicnotes.com, the world's leading sheet music e-retailer and publisher.
Those songs ranked #1 and #2 respectively on the Top Ten List compiled by the company, which offers nearly 250,000 pieces of digital sheet music and guitar tablature. Musicnotes.com also released its Top 100 List of downloaded sheet music for 2013, comprising tunes that dominated the pop charts this past year as well as perennial favorites and everything in between.
Coming in at #3 on the list was “When I Was Your Man” by Bruno Mars, followed by “A Thousand Years” by Christina Perri at #4, “Skyfall” by Adele at #5 and “10,000 Reasons (Bless The Lord)” by Matt Redman at #6.
Adele proved quite popular with both experienced and budding musicians last year, including those who downloaded sheet music to play themselves on new instruments they got this past holiday season. Rounding out Musicnotes.com’s Top Ten List for 2013 were two more of Adele’s hits, “Someone Like You” at #7 and “Make You Feel My Love” at #8. The Leonard Cohen classic “Hallelujah,” popularized again last year by Rufus Wainwright, took the #9 spot, and placing tenth was the instrumental “River Flows In You” by Yurima.
“The greatest compliment to a songwriter is when musicians buy the sheet music and want to play the song,” said Kathleen Marsh, CEO and Co-Founder of Musicnotes.com. “The top-selling songs on Musicnotes.com show us that musicians, from beginner to professional, want to play the latest hits they hear on the radio.
