BOC Offers CDME Certification Workshop and Exam at Medtrade Spring
Owings Mills, MD (PRWEB) February 03, 2014 -- In a joint effort to deliver a unique certification opportunity to Medtrade attendees, an introductory workshop for the Durable Medical Equipment Specialist (CDME) certification exam will be presented by the Board of Certification/Accreditation (BOC) and The MED Group at Medtrade Spring in March 2014. Participants will also have the opportunity to sit for the CDME exam during the expo, which will run from March 10th through 12th, at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Workshop participants will discover the value of the CDME credential and how it can help them gain a competitive edge in a challenging industry climate. How to market the credential to patients, referral sources, and third party payors, will also be discussed during the session. A representative from The MED Group will lead a comprehensive exam preparation course, followed by a self-assessment to gauge individual preparedness for the certification exam.
The DME Specialist certification signifies a broad understanding of the durable medical equipment (DME) industry, including the intake process, product selection, dispensing and setup, documentation, billing, compliance, and performance management. Earning the CDME credential demonstrates comprehensive knowledge of products like oxygen, transfer systems, enteral supplies, and wound care. Trained and certified “CDMEs,” as these specialists are known, are highly valued in the DME industry and the certification assures patients and referral sources of professionalism and quality care.
