Aurora, Illinois (PRWEB) February 05, 2014 -- Firearm Training Pros has developed a highly interactive 8 hour Illinois specific online Concealed Carry Class that they say can make the streets of Illinois a safer place. Patty Walker one of the senior instructors with a military police background shares both the benefits and shortcomings of the online training. First off Patty wants to stress that no online training is approved by the Illinois State Police or is currently being used for Illinois concealed carry training. When it comes to concealed carry no matter which side of the aisle you are on online training offers something to make everyone happy.
The first and obvious limitation of the online training is that it must be used in conjunction with a solid 8 hours (if not more based upon the individual) day of hands on instructor led training. Without the Instructor led class the online training is purely educational and can’t provide the hands on training that everyone needs.
The benefits of the online training are numerous but here are some of those benefits. It offers consistent, reliable training that doesn’t require a firearm to learn. Online training is participation driven requiring frequent program interaction thus ensuring student presence during training. Online training is a solid 8 hours of training unlike a typical class which includes lunch and breaks. It uses video, clear cut instructions, frequent knowledge checks, and a non-scored quiz to aid in the transfer of knowledge and confirmation of understanding. Lessons can be provided to the students for review and practice off-line after participating online. Training content completely and thoroughly addresses safety rules and procedures that serve to protect the applicant and those around the applicant. Built-in program standards require all training be fully reviewed before student can complete the course and there is no way to fast forward or tune out. Student responses to critical questions that confirm understanding of important safety aspects and laws are recorded, reviewed, maintained, and filed as documentation to confirm knowledge retention. Pricing can be half of a typical one day instructor led class. But best of all is perhaps that it allows for the second day of instructor led training more time to focus intently on the actual firearm handling skills and exercises that are critically needed to carry a concealed firearm. Safety is a concern of everyone. Any law enforcement officer will tell you that it takes a lot of training and practice to handle and use a holstered firearm.
Patty says that she is sure if people take a look at the online training they will be impressed and see the benefits. Don’t believe it? Call 630-366-1553 or email online(at)firearmtrainingpros(dot)com if you are with the media, or a state official upon request you will be given access to the online training to experience it for yourself. Sorry, it’s not available for the general public. There are plans to introduce it to some politicians and the Illinois state police for feedback. Anything that makes Illinois a safer concealed carry state is a win for every citizen.
