In 2012, Tunstall Americas made a commitment to bring 250 jobs to Rhode Island by April 2014. By the end of February 2014, Tunstall will have hired 269 employees two months ahead of schedule. They have also spent over six million dollars on renovations and technology using only local contractors to implement the build out of the 85 thousand square foot facility at 100 Freight Street where they currently house their North American data and operation center.

“Tunstall's move to Rhode Island has been a terrific addition to our state and is an important part in strengthening the City of Pawtucket’s economic vitality,” Governor Lincoln D. Chafee said. “The creation of 269 jobs is a great example of how the state and City can work with companies to foster a business-friendly environment here in Rhode Island and continue to move our economy forward. We worked in close partnership to meet Tunstall’s relocation needs and to help the company exceed its hiring goals ahead of schedule."

“From the start, Brad Waugh and everyone at Tunstall showed us they were as committed to being in the City of Pawtucket as they were to operating an outstanding business that would bring many new jobs. It has been a pleasure to work with them and the City looks forward to continuing our mutually beneficial association for many years to come,” said Mayor Donald Grebien.

“The City of Pawtucket was instrumental in securing an Enterprise Zone for the area – which provides tax credits for all hires in and out of the city,” said Brad Waugh, CEO of Tunstall Americas, “We continue to receive ongoing support from both Governor Lincoln Chafee’s and Mayor Donald Grebien’s offices and are extremely grateful for all of the help and guidance we have received this past year.”

In September of 2013, The Workforce Solutions of Pawtucket/Cranston established a partnership with Tunstall America with the goal of finding employment for their client referrals through the On the Job Training Program (OJT). As of January 31, 2014, Tunstall has hired 35% of The Workforce Solutions total program placements.

“More impressive is the retention rate of our clients at Tunstall, standing at 92%,” explained Fran Dickervitz, Job Developer at Workforce Solutions. “This impressive retention rate indicates to us that Tunstall possesses an effective training and management program and it has been a company that we have been very fortunate to have had the pleasure of serving.”
