Ben Veghte Joins The National Venture Capital Association As Vice President Of Communications
Washington, D.C. (PRWEB) February 04, 2014 -- The National Venture Capital Association (NVCA) today announced Ben Veghte will become its vice president of communications beginning February 10, 2014. Mr. Veghte comes to the NVCA from The Glover Park Group (GPG), where he was director, strategic communications.

From the halls of Congress to the corporate boardroom, he is a seasoned communications professional with extensive experience developing and executing integrated communications campaigns around complex public policy issues,” said Bobby Franklin, president and CEO of NVCA. “His experience and background will serve the venture industry well as we continue advocating for commonsense policy proposals essential to economic growth, job creation and innovation. Ben’s communications and policy expertise will be a welcomed asset for our members and I look forward to his enthusiasm in championing the industry,” Franklin added.
Mr. Veghte brings to NVCA nearly a decade of experience in politics, policy and public relations. As a client-facing account manager in GPG’s strategic communications practice, Mr. Veghte provided strategic counsel and tactical communications support to corporations, coalitions and trade associations in the financial services industry. Prior to joining GPG, Veghte spent several years working in the House of Representatives, most recently as communications director for Rep. Scott Garrett. In this role, he developed and led all communications activities to advance the congressman’s policy agenda and promote his leadership roles as chairman of the House Financial Services Subcommittee on Capital Markets and Government Sponsored Enterprises and vice chairman of the House Budget Committee.
Before his time on Capitol Hill, Veghte worked in various communications posts for the
Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association (SIFMA) and its predecessor organization the Securities Industry Association (SIA). Complementing his policy and advocacy experience, Ben has worked on the frontlines of political campaigns at the congressional and presidential level, including serving as vp ops coordinator and personal aide on the 2008 McCain-Palin campaign.
Veghte earned his Bachelor’s degree in political science and communications from Muhlenberg College in Allentown, PA and his Master’s degree in political management from George Washington University in Washington, DC.
