IHOP Gives Away Pancakes on Tuesday March 4 to Support Children’s Specialized Hospital
New Jersey (PRWEB) February 05, 2014 -- On Tuesday, March 4, New Jersey IHOP restaurants will offer each guest a free short stack of their famous buttermilk pancakes on National Pancake Day (http://www.IHOPpancakeday.com). This family-friendly tradition aims to raise needed funds and awareness for Children's Specialized Hospital, a Children’s Miracle Network Hospital. Children’s Specialized Hospital, the largest pediatric rehabilitation hospital in the country, treats children affected by brain injury, spinal cord injury, premature birth, autism, developmental delays, and life-changing illnesses at twelve sites throughout New Jersey.
For every short stack of buttermilk pancakes served on National Pancake Day between 7 a.m. and 10 p.m., IHOP guests are invited to make a voluntary donation to Children’s Specialized Hospital. Since 2006, IHOP National Pancake Day has raised more than $10 million to provide life-saving treatment, programs and medical equipment for child patients — including the 22,872 children treated annually at Children’s Specialized Hospital.
“Children’s Specialized Hospital thanks IHOP’s local efforts. The children, their families, doctors and therapists are all very appreciative for IHOP National Pancake Day. The money raised has helped tremendously in purchasing equipment to further patients’ progress here at Children’s Specialized Hospital,” said Phil Salerno III, president and chief development officer, Children’s Specialized Hospital Foundation.
The 34 IHOPs in central and northern New Jersey that support Children’s Specialized Hospital have become one of the top Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals partners in the past few years. They went from raising just $20,000 in 2008 to over $122,000 in 2013. Children’s Specialized Hospital is also proud and grateful to the IHOP in Brick, NJ for being the #1 fundraising IHOP in the entire country. Owner Lou Maschi and his team raised over $51,000 in 2013.
“We have an incredible group of IHOP restaurants,” said Nicole Fulmino, director of Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals at Children’s Specialized Hospital Foundation. “We are so grateful that they not only work hard to raise these important funds for our kids, but many of them also treat our patients like family.”
IHOPs are also selling Children’s Miracle Network Hospital balloons to help raise money during the entire month of February. A $5 donation gets you a $5 coupon back to IHOP!
