The Brain Aneurysm Foundation Releases Mobile App Platform
Hanover, MA (PRWEB) February 05, 2014 -- Celebrating its 20th anniversary, The Brain Aneurysm Foundation has announced the release of its new mobile application “Brain Aneurysm” for use on Apple and Android devices. The free app, now available for download on iTunes and Google Play, is designed to provide the general public with useful information about brain aneurysms, whenever and wherever they may need it.
The Brain Aneurysm App was created in conjunction with The Neurosurgical Atlas and Dr. Aaron Cohen-Gadol, a leading neurosurgeon dedicated to the treatment of brain aneurysms from Goodman Campbell Brain and Spine and Indiana University Department of Neurosurgery.
This new application is an innovative way to increase awareness and educate individuals about brain aneurysms. The app features educational videos about aneurysms, treatment and recovery and patient advocacy. The app also provides access to a variety of blogs about brain aneurysms, discussion groups, upcoming events and fundraisers and much more.
The announcement of the new mobile app comes as The Brain Aneurysm Foundation celebrations its 20th Anniversary. The Foundation was created in 1994 with a mission of providing support and educational materials to the medical community, the newly diagnosed, survivors, family members, friends and the general public regarding the facts, treatment options, and recovery process for brain aneurysms.
“As we celebrate our 20th anniversary, we remain committed to being a source of information and advocacy for brain aneurysm survivors and families,” said Christine Buckley, executive director of The Brain Aneurysm Foundation. “Each year, we look to educate more people about brain aneurysms. This mobile app provides an innovative tool to reach a larger audience.”
It is estimated that up to 1 in 50 people in the U.S. will develop a brain aneurysm during their lifetime. Each year about 30,000 people will suffer a ruptured brain aneurysm. In the twenty years of existence The Brain Aneurysm Foundation has created hope with research that is being done today to save lives tomorrow. In 2013 the Brain Aneurysm Foundation provided over $200,000 in grants for research to aide early detection, improve treatment modalities, and technological advances that will ultimately improve outcomes for patients with brain aneurysms.
