Timmons Group Selected by the City of Virginia Beach to Provide GIS Annual Services
Virginia Beach, VA (PRWEB) February 06, 2014 -- Timmons Group was selected by the City of Virginia Beach to provide annual engineering services to support the City’s Public Utilities GIS Program.
The Public Utilities GIS Program provides complete utility infrastructure inventory and mapping services for their citizens, customers and staff, as well as special maps for staff that contain data analyses and reports. Anticipated services under this contract include the deployment of digital maps and work order processing for field crews, improvements to the overall GIS data collection and process time, as well as an interactive citizens’ problem reporting system.
This contract will allow the City of Virginia Beach to proactively implement several objectives over the next five years, including improvements to GIS data collection processing; preparing a strategic plan for the City’s Public Utilities GIS services; and supporting and complementing departmental information management and City-wide programs. These task orders will enhance the City’s already growing community and allow for both City staff and local citizens to more easily access information, report problems and promote safety throughout the area.
