Resource International, Inc. Receives Recognition from City Council in Honor of Projectgrid.com®'s Mobile Asset Manager, the iiCollectorTM
Columbus, Ohio (PRWEB) February 05, 2014 -- Resource International, Inc. (Rii) was presented with a Resolution from the City of Columbus in honor of receiving the International Roadway Federation (IRF) Global Road Achievement Award (GRAA) for their mobile asset manager, the iiCollectorTM.
The Resolution, presented on December 16, 2013, states that the City council “recognizes and honors Resource International for receiving the 2013 Global Road Achievement Award.” In addition to presenting the Resolution, Councilwoman Eileen Paley acknowledged Rii’s commitment to the community and thanked them for their service to the City. This is the second Resolution from the City of Columbus that Rii received in 2013.
Powered by Google Maps, the Projectgrid.com iiCollector is a flexible, customizable asset management system used to rate both pavement and non-pavement elements using a handheld device. The software has the capability to flag roadway deficiencies in the field in a matter of seconds, making the roadways safer for motorists.
Using the iiCollector in the field, technicians are able to rate roadway deficiencies in the categories of drainage, guardrails, medians, pavements and traffic. Deficiencies such as potholes, debris on the road and high drop-offs are dangerous for motorists. According to the Transportation Research Board, roadside crashes account for one-third of all U.S. highways fatalities each year. Many of these highway deaths and injuries result from crashes into trees and poles, located dangerously close to the edge of the roadway. By flagging these deficiencies early and quickly, Rii believes the iiCollector can play a pivotal role in providing safer roads for motorists across the country.
The IRF awarded ProjectGrid.com’s iiCollector the GRAA in the Technology, Equipment and Manufacturing Award category, which recognizes inventors and manufacturers who integrate, develop and market new products and/or equipment that advance the road construction industry. In addition to their recognition at the 17th IRF World Meeting and Exhibition in Saudi Arabia in November, representatives from Rii were honored at the GRAA Awards Luncheon at the TRB Meeting in Washington, DC in January.
