Wisconsin Summit to Help Physician Practices Prepare for ICD-10 Implementation
Chicago (PRWEB) February 07, 2014 -- The mandated October 1, 2014 deadline to implement the ICD-10 coding system includes physician practices as well as hospitals, and the Wisconsin Hospital Association, Wisconsin Medical Society and the Wisconsin Medical Group Management Association are helping the state’s physicians to prepare by sponsoring the “ICD-10 Summit: Ready. Set. Go Live!” from March 17 to 19, 2014 in Wisconsin Dells, Wis. Care Communications, Inc., (CARE) a national health information consulting and outsourcing firm, will participate in the summit as an exhibitor and by leading the presentation “ICD-10 for Cardiology,” which will be delivered by CARE’s Julie Daube, manager of coding quality review and education.
Daube will review the cardiology guideline changes for ICD-10-CM. She will also discuss introductory ICD-10 and review examples of good and poor clinical documentation.
Objectives of the presentation include:
• To learn ICD-10 guidelines as they relate to cardiology.
• Review of the top clinical conditions with specific emphasis on associated documentation and medical coding requirements to lower practice risk.

She also maintains current policies and procedures for coding quality review and education functions.
