ADD Inc Selected to Lead the Architecture and Design of the New 48-Story Brickell Bayview Center in Miami, Florida
(PRWEB) February 10, 2014 -- The award-winning architecture and design firm ADD Inc has been retained by prominent real estate developers, Crocker Partners, to lead the design for Brickell Bayview Center located at 86 S.W. 8 Street in Miami, Florida, across from Mary Brickell Village in the vibrant West Brickell neighborhood.
Architect Jonathan Cardello, Principal-Director of ADD Inc in Miami, will lead the construction of the 650,000 square foot residential tower, which will also include 4,500 square feet of ground level retail space. Brickell Bayview Center will have 48 stories, 420 residential units, and 440 parking spaces.
Brickell Bayview Center distinguishes itself with a unique angular, towering basket-weave design. The zigzag structure with serrated balconies represents flight, movement, lightness and two-dimensional shifting planes.
“ADD Inc wanted to create a building that would really stand out on Brickell,” stated Jonathan Cardello. “I believe we’ve done that with the ingenuity of this design, there is nothing like it in the area.”
The building was also created with environmental concerns in mind. The building’s design avoids direct sunlight and solar radiation. Wells located throughout the structure will capture storm water, and interior materials, such as paint, carpets, adhesives and sealants will be low emitting to maintain optimum indoor air. Once completed, the project will pursue LEED certification.
One of South Florida’s most renowned landscape architecture firms, Savino Miller Design Studio, will design the landscaping for the site, and Balfour Beatty Construction, one of South Florida’s oldest construction companies, is the builder.
The building’s construction start date is estimated for September 2014, with a completion date of Summer 2016.
