Phantom of the Opera Tickets in Chicago at Cadillac Palace: Ticket Down Has Slashed Prices On All Phantom of the Opera Tickets at Cadillac Palace in Chicago
Chicago, IL (PRWEB) February 05, 2014 -- Ticket Down announces that they have slashed prices across the board for the Phantom of the Opera in Chicago at Cadillac Palace. For the past 26 years, “The Phantom of the Opera” has been a hit on musical stages around the United States and abroad. In 1988, this musical, originally written by Gaston Leroux, and converted into a musical by Andrew Lloyd Webber won a Tony Award for “Best Musical,” and has gone through countless stints at the top venues around the world and is one of the most popular shows to see on Broadway. One notable change for this show compared to others that are longstanding in the United States is that it has gone mostly unchanged and is still the show performed all those years ago. The show opened at the Cadillac Palace Theatre in Chicago, Ill. in January and is scheduled to run through March 2.
“The Phantom of the Opera” is the longest running musical on Broadway in New York City with more than 10,000 shows and has won countless other awards during its run. The show that fans of the musical will see in Chicago is much like the one they would see on Broadway, with the biggest differences being the cast and the stage setups and arrangements. Fans looking to travel to the “Windy City” to see this timeless classic will be excited with the new design of the show, as well as different choreography and a different attitude and tone from the supporting actors.
This two-and-a-half hour musical phenomenon has been critically acclaimed since their opening night. Variety said the show was “Cautious but often clever, the new 'Phantom' staging is refreshed rather than significantly reimagined.” Several fans that have attended the show in Chicago have enjoyed what they have seen thus far. Maryfran commented on the Cadillac Theater websites by saying that the show was an “Excellent production” and that she “loved the reinvented version.”
The two leads on the show are young and talented, Cooper Grodin and Julia Udine. Both actors have been praised for their singing ability. Grodin has performed on many national tours for some of the most popular musicals including “Zorro” and “Les Misérables,” as well as other off Broadway musicals. Udine is making her touring debut with this show and has appeared in numerous productions and television shows including Law and Order SVU.
“The Phantom of the Opera” is starting their national tour with these shows in Chicago, including eight shows a week through the month of February. The tour will make its way to many other musical-loving crowds in the country including Philadelphia, Pa., Boston, Mass., Oklahoma City, Okla., and Los Angeles, Calif. The stop in Chicago is the longest of the tour and fans will have plenty of chances to see this timeless classic live.
The Cadillac Palace Theatre first opened in 1926 and has gone by several different names in their past before Cadillac got the naming rights in 1999 and was renovated into a theatre. The venue can seat 2,344 fans for each show and has been home to many shows in the past including “Wicked,” “Shrek the Musical” and “The Color Purple."
