New RiskRadar Podcast Offers Forward-Looking Perspective on Global Business Risks
(PRWEB UK) 6 February 2014 -- Control Risks, the global business risk consultancy, has launched a new podcast series that forecasts global business risks on a regular basis. The podcast is produced fortnightly and co-hosted by Charles Hecker, our London-based Global Research Director, and Michael Moran, New York-based Vice President for Global Risk Analysis.
RiskRadar will weigh global trends and events in the weeks ahead and outline their potential impact on businesses. Drawing on the views of our global experts, the podcast will look in real time at the crises and political and economic milestones that global corporations should be focused on.
The inaugural edition focused on security surrounding the Winter Olympic Games, tensions over naval exercises in the Pacific Ocean, and a leadership transition at the US Federal Reserve bank.
“There hasn’t been this sort of peacetime security effort in Russia—or in too many other places, frankly,” explained Charles Hecker, in discussing the Winter Olympic security apparatus. He added, “There is very little—in fact no—precedent in Russia for terrorist attacks being aimed specifically at tourists and visitors. Almost all of the terrorist activity in Russia has been aimed at government targets and at infrastructure targets.”
Future episodes will look at the changing nature of international terrorism, the slowdown in emerging markets, the crackdowns on corruption in China, Brazil and India, piracy in the Gulf of Aden, and crises and civil conflicts in Syria, Central African Republic, and elsewhere. RiskRadar is available through Control Risks’ podcast feed as well as on iTunes.
