After several successful franchise openings in Missouri and North Carolina, St. Louis-based restaurant chain, Hotshots Sports Bar and Grill, announces plans to expand franchising into new markets in 2014.

St. Louis inspired restaurant chain, Hotshots Sports Bar and Grill, has announced its plans to expand into new markets in Missouri, Illinois, Texas and North Carolina in 2014.

After more than 20 years in operation, the company decided the best strategy for future growth is to move forward with franchising. With seasoned employees, the key personnel are in place and serve as support staff to franchisees. Director of Franchise Operations, Matt Volmert, says these employees play a large role in what helps the new franchisees succeed.

“We find the best support-people are not from the outside, but rather the key people who have years of experience in day-to-day operations,” said Volmert.

Hotshots’ strategic franchising plan will bring the brand into high-profile markets, which include award-winning development deals with single, multi-unit and multi-brand restaurant ownership groups eager to enhance their portfolios with a concept that is ready for growth.

The brand has built a loyal following throughout its 23-year history, which makes it attractive on several levels to established restaurant operators, upper-level retail management, and area managers. The average Earnings Before Interest, Taxes, Depreciation and Amortization (EBITDA) for the brand is 16%, which is well above the national average. Owner and CEO, Dan Volmert, says the key component that leads to higher-than-average profits is the opening cost range of $367,000-$755,000.

“We have built our company on a slow, steady profitable growth. We are taking the same approach to franchising,” said D. Volmert. “We want to make sure each franchisee is the right fit for us and we are the right fit for them. Customer service and consistency are the keys to our business and keep our customers coming back day after day.”

Company projections for 2014 call for one corporate location in Wentzville, MO, additional Missouri franchises in Webster Groves and St. Peters, and another in Edwardsville, IL. With the increase in franchise momentum, several more are projected to sign agreements in 2014, for openings in late 2014 and early 2015.
