Rockland Country Day School Third and Fourth Grade Students to Entertain Residents of Sunrise Assisted Living in New City, New York
(PRWEB) February 10, 2014 -- A visit to an assisted–living facility is a rewarding experience for both, the students who visit and the residents who live there. Under the guidance of teachers Marilee Abramshe and Brittany Bonney, third and fourth graders from Rockland Country Day School will perform "Matilda" for the Sunrise Assisted Living community in New City, NY.
Students have been diligently rehearsing their parts and are eager to perform for the residents on March 14, 2014. In addition to learning their parts, students are learning how volunteering can make a difference.
Community service is an integral part of the curriculum at Rockland Country Day School. Even the youngest students are encouraged to look for areas of need in our community and devise ways of helping. If you know of an organization in need of student volunteers, please contact Jocelyn Feuerstein, jfeuerstein(at)rocklandcds(dot)org at 845-268-6802.
