A $12 million Eagle Ford Production Revenue Gain from Best Practices.
Cuero, TX (PRWEB) February 10, 2014 -- Today Phoenix Chemical Technologies announced the results of a challenging test of produced H2S in a major operator’s field in the Eagle Ford (South Texas), according to Mr. Shawn Kurtz, managing director. Mr. Kurtz said that this operator contacted Phoenix in mid-January of this year and requested a test of one of their production operations that was losing sales and causing potential safety problems because the H2S content was not being managed with a 400 Gallon /day ongoing treatment to 2,500 bbl. /day of hydrocarbons produced.
The following day, Phoenix Chemical Technologies personnel shut down the existing treatment as requested. Due to the production facility layout, they inserted an injection line and pump upstream from the facility and began pumping 22 Gallons /day equivalent of the Phoenix ST-4064 H2S scavenger at 11:30 a.m. on Sunday, January 19th. One hour later, at the riser 1,000 ft. downstream, the measured H2S had dropped by 2,400 ppm. Maintaining a 22 gallon/day flow, Phoenix was able to bring down produced H2S to just 25 ppm in six hours of treatment. At that point the operator decided to shut down the test. This was an accomplishment that hadn't been previously witnessed.
Summary; the operator expects to make a decision on how they will proceed this month. In anticipation that this treatment process and methodology would continue, this particular operator could expect see a net increase in revenue associated with this Eagle Ford field of nearly $1,000,000 per month, or $12 million annually from increased output (current prices). They could also expect additional benefits from lower operating and equipment maintenance costs.
