Sandy Springs, GA (PRWEB) February 08, 2014 -- FuegoMundo, the first kosher South American restaurant in the USA, recently went above and beyond expectations on a recent catering event.
During an epic snow storm in Atlanta, Georgia on January 28th, which virtually shut down the city for two days, Chef and Owner Masha Hleap and her husband, Udi Hershkovitz of FuegoMundo were not to be deterred until the job was done.
While the governor and mayor of Atlanta were urging everyone off the roads, the team at FuegoMundo were just setting off on their treacherous eight mile ride to feed the United Synagogue Youth at a Windy Hill Road hotel.
The journey began at 4:00 pm; however, the Masha and Udi didn’t return home after delivering the food until 3:30 am (11.5 hours later). All members of the United Synagogue youth were very grateful for the delicious food both nights that they were in Atlanta and were happy that it allowed them to help others who were also in the hotel and stranded due to the weather.
FuegoMundo opened its doors four years ago in June-2009, and became certified Kosher in 2011 – the first of its kind restaurant in the USA. The restaurant offers an authentic and healthy taste of South American cuisine spanning the entire continent. The menu includes dishes from Argentina, Colombia, Venezuela, Brazil, El Salvador, Cuba, Peru, Puerto Rico, Uruguay and more. In addition to being Kosher, FuegoMundo is a place vegetarians, vegans, and people with gluten-free and dairy-free restrictive diets will enjoy and appreciate.
Masha Hleap is chef and owner of FuegoMundo, originally from Colombia, South America and raised in Sandy Springs.
