RP Data revealed that sales figures for Gold Coast real estate will be its highest in 10 years, and Chinese investors are fuelling the high demand for property, (The Australian reported on 11 January 2014).
Andrew Bell, CEO of Ray White Paradise Surfers Group, confirmed that in October alone they helped 43 Chinese buyers purchase real estate ranging from a $95,000 studio apartment to A $5.2 million penthouse.
“The Chinese are undoubtedly one of the largest foreign investors for Australian real estate right now. A contributing factor to this phenomenon is the fact that a lot of foreign students go to school in our country, and their parents setup these properties for their children’s use,” commented Rick Otton, a respected property coach for over 14 years in Australia.
“The increased demand from foreign buyers has been great for increasing real estate values, but for local investors, who don’t have a large pool of cash to buy investment property, rising house prices mean less investment opportunities, especially for first home buyers.
