X-plorenow Xpeditions (X2), an adventure travel company, is excited to announce the launch of the X2 Trophy, a Camel Trophy style vehicle based amateur event, that is open to anyone who wants to challenge themselves and push their limits.
"The X2 team were huge fans of National Geographic and the original Camel Trophy growing up, and speaking with our customers, partners, and other vehicle and adventure fans it was easy to see that we were not alone!" says Michael Arian, Founder & Owner of X-plorenow Xpeditions. "So we thought why can't we make a similar event available in North America on a smaller scale? Rather than talking about it, why don't we do it ourselves?"
The X2 Trophy is a series of Vehicle Based Overland Events held across the United States. It is modeled after a number of events including the legendary Camel Trophy, G4 Challenge, European trophy and rally series, and the more recent, Vermont Overland Trophy (VOT). These will be team based multi-staged events, focused on teamwork and camaraderie. While each stage will be timed, the focus will be on the completion of all stages and “special tasks.” Each event will be limited to 50 teams of two vehicles and four team members.
X2 will be hosting six events across the eastern half of the United States in 2014 including Maine, Michigan, Georgia, North Carolina, Florida, and Wyoming. There is a lot of early interest, and spots are very limited, so register now at http://www.x2trophy.com.
