Think Tank Training Centre Welcomes VFX and Compositing Supervisor Chris Van Dyck and Feature Animator Tony Mecca
North Vancouver, BC (PRWEB) March 12, 2014 -- In an effort to always stay current with the demands of the entertainment industry, its pretty much a necessity now to have professionals that are up to date with the latest techniques, knowledge and skills needed for movie visual effects, television animation, and games. The quality required for feature films demand that the people who work on them be the best at what they do. Having instructors that have experience on today's top feature films is especially useful as their skills are top of the line.
These kind of quality instructors are not always easy to come by as the entertainment industry can be pretty demanding on the their time. We are quite honored to have two such quality instructors come our way. Here's a little about the two new editions to Think Tank:
Chris van Dyck is a Vancouver-based VFX and Compositing supervisor in the commercial, film, and television industry. With a decade of experience, he has worked at some of the top studios around the world: WETA Digital, Industrial Light & Magic, MPC, Rising Sun Pictures, Animal Logic, The Embassy and Prime Focus. Some of his most notable credits include: The Hobbit 1 & 2, Thor 2, Life of Pi, Transformers: Dark Side of the Moon, Tron: Legacy, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, Ironman and Frank Miller’s: 300.
Tony Mecca has worked worked in games for 6 years as a character animator and is currently working in feature film. During his time as a video game animator he contributed to all aspects of game development including the award winning control system in Conduit and Conduit 2. He also assisted in design, concept and weapons systems. He worked as a lead Animator at Rhythm and Hues for almost 2 years animating on Mr Poppers Penguins, Alvin 3, Snow White and the Huntsman, and R.I.P.D. He then worked at Blue Sky Studios on Epic and Rio 2, and was a Senior animator at Rainmaker Studios. Currently Tony is working at Digital Domain 3.0 on Fast & Furious 7.
