AIA Postponing Wrestling Tournaments as a Safety Precaution
Phoenix, Arizona (PRWEB) February 07, 2014 -- The Arizona Interscholastic Association has postponed the AIA Sectional Wrestling Tournaments, originally scheduled for February 8, after receiving reports that some wrestlers had contracted an unknown skin infection. While none of the infections have been reported to be MRSA, the AIA is taking precautionary measures of postponing the tournament as a matter of safety.
Families and wrestlers are encouraged to be vigilant regarding any suspicious skin lesion by consulting their personal physician. The AIA Sports Medicine Advisory Committee recommends that all schools follow the USA wrestling and CDC guidelines regarding infectious diseases.
