Washington, DC (PRWEB) February 11, 2014

Radius Networks, Inc., the leading provider of mobile proximity services, today announced that it has partnered with mobile marketing and social media experts Mobisfera to bring the MWC Challenge iBeacon Scavenger Hunt to the 2014 Mobile World Congress to be held in Barcelona, February 24 through February 27.

iBeacons are short range, Bluetooth Low Energy transmitters that can notify mobile devices when they come within 100 feet of the beacon. This micro-location proximity awareness can be leveraged to deliver a wide range of new innovative solutions, such as precision indoor navigation, automatic ticketing, guided museum tours and location-relevant offers and promotions. The MWC Challenge iBeacon Scavenger Hunt, debuting at the 2014 Mobile World Congress, will be exclusively powered by RadBeacon high-performance iBeacons from Radius Networks.

“The MWC Challenge will be an exciting way for participants to learn about the latest in mobile technology, and by that I mean iBeacons. Scavenger hunt players will be encouraged to find 6 hidden RadBeacon iBeacons throughout the conference pavilions. Players who complete the game and provide contact details will be entered into a sweepstakes for an awesome technology prize worth over $1000,” said Mobisfera CEO Oriol Marimon-Clos. “We think this is a fun and exciting way to introduce iBeacon technology at MWC 2014 and we are very excited to work with Radius Networks to make this event a reality.”

“We love it when we can help great teams build cool things using our ProximityKit and iBeacon technologies,” said Marc Wallace, CEO and Co-Founder at Radius Networks. “With the MWC Challenge, Oriol and the rest of his team at Mobisfera have created an awesome iBeacon-enabled experience for this year’s Mobile World Congress attendees. Since we introduced the RadBeacon iBeacon, customer response has been overwhelmingly positive. Our partnership with Mobisfera is continued proof that ProximityKit and our iBeacon proximity technologies continue to be the leading choice by the experts who are delivering real-world mobile proximity solutions.”
