CBS’s “The Talk” Host Aisha Tyler discusses NAACP Image Award Nomination for FX’s “Archer”, Her Book Release and Valentines Day on Maria Menounos’ Black Hollywood Live
Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) February 09, 2014 -- Actress, Comedian, Host and Author Aisha Tyler recently discussed her feelings about playing the character “Lana Kane” on the animated FX series Archer. “They sent me the script, I read 5 pages of it, it was brilliant and I said yes. I never thought it would make it to the air because it is too smart, too funny and too dirty to make it on TV and now we are in Season 5”.
During her interview with Maria Menounos' Black Hollywood Live Network, the 1st online entertainment network targeting African Americans, Tyler explained how she came up with the title of her latest book “Self-Inflicted Wounds”. “I have a podcast where I interview mostly men…athletes, artists and musicians…about their work and at the end of the shows, everyone tells a self-inflicted story, which is a story that went wrong in your life that was your own fault”. It’s kind of meant to humanize successful people, because everybody makes stupid mistakes and it’s really how we grow. So the book is all my self-inflicted wound stories from the time I was a kid and the book is really about the fact that the path to success isn’t around failure, it’s through failure. You’re failures are what make you mentally tough and incredibly strong”.
With Valentines Day coming up this week, Aisha was not shy about sharing her plans with her husband. “We are Valentines Day every single day, I am really lucky, I have a very sweet guy, we are always celebrating…the 14th is just a day”.
