New Licensing Announced for Novell GroupWise 2014 – Complimentary Netmail Archive Mailbox Licenses Available from Netmail.com
Montreal, Canada (PRWEB) February 11, 2014 -- Novell today announced changes to the way they will license GroupWise 2014. A summary of these changes is available online.
As part of a special GroupWise 2014 upgrade promotion, any existing client wishing to upgrade to GroupWise 2014 can obtain a free Netmail Archive mailbox license from Netmail.com. By archiving off inactive mailboxes, clients will avoid having to pay to license inactive mailboxes. Once the content of a mailbox is removed from the GroupWise system using Netmail Archive, clients will be able to use their full GroupWise license for additional users being added to their system.
“We are very excited about GroupWise 2014 and looking forward to its release in the coming weeks. Many of our clients have already planned to upgrade and take advantage of the new and powerful administration tools,” said Frederic Bourget, CTO of Netmail, one of the leading developers of security and compliance solutions for GroupWise. “We are especially pleased to be able to offer all GroupWise clients free access to Netmail Archive and introduce them to our comprehensive Email Management platform,” he added.
If clients do not wish to use Netmail Archive, they will need to pay a license fee for Inactive Mailboxes after they have upgraded to GroupWise 2014. This only applies to a mailbox that has been explicitly marked as inactive by the administrator and has not been accessed for 60 days. This is often the case when an employee leaves an organization, but the employee’s email must be retained for eDiscovery or compliance purposes.
This new inactive license option will be priced at approximately 23 percent of the cost of a GroupWise Full Client Mailbox. Full pricing information can be found on Novell's website at http://www.novell.com/products/groupwise/howtobuy.
In addition to reducing clients’ post-upgrade license cost, Netmail Archive provides many additional benefits such as advanced eDiscovery, case management, storage management, and full export capabilities. This further strengthens the position of GroupWise as one of the most secure mobile collaboration products available on the market.
