Alla Arriba Retreat and Yoga Center Will Host Two Workshops on the Healing Powers of the Labyrinth, March 2014 in La Falda, Argentina
New York, NY (PRWEB) February 12, 2014 -- Alla Arriba, central Argentina's boutique yoga, retreat and wellness destination, caters exclusively to small groups seeking renewal for mind, body and spirit through programming and retreats lead by professionals and experts in their fields.
This March 2014, Alla Arriba is proud to contribute a labyrinth to the community of La Falda to help foster public spaces that provide an opportunity for reflection and interaction for the entire community. The project, under the guidance of Veriditas, an international advocacy group whose mission is to increase the number of labyrinths worldwide, will be the focus of two workshops led by The Reverend Dr. Lauren Artress.
The first workshop, held on Friday, March 21, is an introduction to the history and uses of the Labyrinth through the ages. This event will include a dedication ceremony, and workshop participants will have an opportunity to walk the newly constructed Labyrinth. The second is a more intensive two-day workshop, held on Saturday and Sunday March 22 and 23rd. It is a much more in-depth, professional Labyrinth training that is designed for those who wish to become certified to lead Labyrinth walks and workshops on their own. Lunch will be included on both days. For details and further information to attend please visit: http://goo.gl/QHlvyM
These workshops are ideal for anyone interested in learning more about how the labyrinth has been used through the ages as a tool of meditation, reflection and renewal.
Dr. Artress founded Veriditas, the World-Wide Labyrinth Project, in 1996 to “pepper the planet with labyrinths”. With over 3500 labyrinth sites in the US alone, her non-profit work has embraced the vision to activate and transform the human spirit through the Labyrinth Experience. She is a masterful speaker and teacher who quickly engages the listener in a process of discovery. She addresses the spiritual hunger that plagues the Western world and provides a unique answer to this need. Many of our religious symbols—often through overuse—have lost their numinous meaning. Her introduction of the labyrinth brings back into our awareness an ancient symbol imbued with new meaning devoid of sin and guilt. Through her work with the labyrinth as a path of prayer and a walking mediation, thousands of participants over the years have reconnected with their 'soul-assignment' and continue to use the labyrinth as a tool of reflection and personal renewal.
