The popular morning show The Balancing Act® airing on Lifetime TV will feature Merry Maids on a special segment “The Balancing Act Goes Red,” airing Feb. 11 at 6 a.m. Central, and again on Feb. 18.
The segment’s focus is on heart disease, the No.1 killer in women, and how women can recognize signs and symptoms. Tulsa Merry Maids franchise owner, Amy Bates, will appear as a special guest on the show and will give one year of free Merry Maids cleaning services to an American Heart Association heart survivor.
“As a national supporter of the Go Red campaign we are committed to helping drive awareness around this largely preventable disease in women,” said Raj Midha, Merry Maids’ vice president of marketing. “As the No. 1 killer in women, this disease affects our team members, customers and the communities we serve every day. Merry Maids wants to help educate women and men of the signs and symptoms of heart problems so they can easily identify if they, or someone around them, is suffering from a heart problem. Knowing the signs can help save a life.”
Merry Maids, a professional cleaning service for homes across the country and the globe, is a national supporter of the American Heart Association’s Go Red for Women campaign for its second year. The company hosts a “Raise the Roof” campaign for employees and customers. Local Merry Maids branch and franchise offices will place red house-shaped coin banks in customers’ homes to collect loose change during heart month. At the end of February, a Merry Maids team member will pick-up the coin banks and donate 100 percent of the funds raised to the American Heart Association to help fight heart disease and help millions of men and women across the country.
With the help of customers, owners, managers and team members, Merry Maids was able to contribute $150,000 for the American Heart Association in its first year of the Merry Maids "Raise the Roof" campaign, which was listed as one of the top 10 Best Cause Marketing Promotions in 2013 by SelfishGiving.com.
“We’re looking forward to having Merry Maids on our special to hear more about their services and involvement with the American Heart Association’s Go Red Initiative that brings awareness to women about their heart health,” says Becky Kaiser, Associate Producer for The Balancing Act® on Lifetime TV.
