Nashville, TN (PRWEB) February 11, 2014
Russell Peters is performing at Zanies Comedy Club Thursday, February 13, 2014 - Sunday, February 16, 2014. Peters is ranked by Forbes as one of the top ten highest grossing comics in the U.S. and has more than 60 million views on YouTube. Peters is going back to his comedy club roots in preparation for his next global tour.
After the success of Notorious, Peters is taking advantage of his club appearances to figure out his new set. Notorious was the first Netflix original stand-up comedy special and proved very successful on the on demand Internet streaming media. The upcoming club shows have been called a “work in progress” by the comedian and are expected to include some random humor and crowd work.
Peters’ comedic style usually incorporates humor highlighting racial, ethnic, class and cultural stereotypes. Growing up in an Anglo-Indian family, Peters was often bullied as a child and refers to his own life experiences in his acts. Because of his own experiences, Peters does not intend to put down other races, but rather raise them up through comedy.
Peters has an extremely large online presence with a combined 1,372,000 followers on Facebook and Twitter. He has performed with very well-known comedians such as Dave Chapelle, Dane Cook, Tracey Morgan, Chris Tucker and many more. In October of 2010, Peters published his autobiography, Call me Russell, co-written with his brother.
These shows will be different than Peters’ past work, but provide a rare opportunity to see the global comedian up close and personal. Because he has sold out Radio City Music Hall in 72 hours, it is likely that tickets will go fast. Visit http://www.nashville.zanies.com or call 615-269-0221 for ticket and show information.
