Rocky Crest Golf Resort to Sponsor 2014 Muskoka Boat Rally for Kids with Cancer
Muskoka, Ontario (PRWEB) February 24, 2014 -- Rocky Crest Golf Resort (http://www.rockycrest.ca), one of Ontario’s premier waterfront resorts, will once again sponsor the Muskoka Boat Rally for Kids with Cancer, a star-studded fundraiser in support of children’s cancer research, treatment and care at the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto. The Muskoka Boat Rally, which takes place on Saturday, July 19, is an over-the-top fundraising event that teams participants with athletes and celebrities for a fun-filled day on the water.
The Muskoka Boat Rally for Kids with Cancer has been likened to television’s “Amazing Race.” Rally teams, along with their celebrity partners, must decipher a series of clues and riddles. The clues lead them from one location to the next as they navigate the waters of Lake Joseph and Lake Rosseau along a secret route across the waterways of Muskoka. The day starts off with a pre-rally brunch where teams meet their celebrity teammates and ends with a barbeque gala dinner, complete with entertainment and a live auction.
Anyone who owns a boat can enter the Muskoka Boat Rally for Kids with Cancer. Along with a $75 registration fee per person, all teams must fundraise at least $7,500 to qualify. Teams that raise $15,000 or more have the opportunity to “draft” a celebrity teammate, with the highest fundraising team getting the first draft-pick choice. All monies raised by the Muskoka Boat Rally for Kids with Cancer go to the Hospital for Sick Children, one of the world’s top children’s hospitals, to support the fight against children’s cancer. Celebrities and philanthropists involved in last year’s Muskoka Boat Rally for Kids with Cancer include Goldie Hawn, Catherine O’Hara, Gene Simmons, Paul Coffey, Kurt Russell, Omar Benson-Miller, P. K. Subban and many more.
Rocky Crest Golf Resort, as well as participating in the Muskoka Boat Rally for Kids with Cancer as an event sponsor, will once again be handling the duties of preparing and staffing the event’s popular pre-rally brunch. Eagerly anticipated by all participants, the lavish brunch reception is where rally teams can partake in a delicious meal and have the opportunity to meet and mingle with celebrity guests before the rally begins. After brunch, the rally gets underway as teams take off from the Rocky Crest Golf Resort’s docks. Rocky Crest is also offering discounted rooms rates at the resort for rally participants.
“The management and staff of Rocky Crest are very pleased to be a part of the Muskoka Boat Rally for Kids with Cancer again this year,” says Rocky Crest Golf Resort general manager Jerry Feltis. “The Rally is an outstanding fundraiser for a very worthwhile cause and one that the generous people of Muskoka can be proud to support. I’m looking forward to this year’s Rally, which I am certain will be even more exciting and successful than last year.”
