ScaleArc Expands Database Traffic Management Offerings on AWS Marketplace
Santa Clara, CA (PRWEB) February 11, 2014 -- ScaleArc, a leading provider of database traffic management software, announced today that its ScaleArc for SQL Server software is available on AWS Marketplace, joining ScaleArc for MySQL, which has been available on AWS Marketplace since August 2012. Both software solutions are available with a 15-day free trial on AWS Marketplace. AWS infrastructure charges apply during the trial period.
Amazon Web Services (AWS) customers can now use ScaleArc’s database traffic management software to further boost the availability, performance, and scalability of business-critical applications and websites without any modifications to either applications or databases. ScaleArc’s patented software provides an abstraction layer for the database tier, deploying transparently and optimizing SQL query flows. The software provides high-availability features, including zero-downtime patching and maintenance, as well as traffic management and offload capabilities that enable up to 10x scalability of database transactions. The ScaleArc software also provides real-time analytics for AWS customers.
“With free trials on AWS Marketplace, customers can cut the time, effort, and costs involved in evaluating and deploying software,” said Terry Hanold, Vice President, Cloud Commerce, Amazon Web Services. “With ScaleArc’s free trials on AWS Marketplace, customers can deploy ScaleArc in minutes, evaluate performance, and readily shift into full production mode with no migration or re-deployment after the trial is over.”
With ScaleArc for SQL Server 2.5 (formerly iDB), enterprises gain access to the advanced reliability and performance enhancements of traditional scale up and scale out techniques but without any of the cost and delay of modifying applications. The software:
• increases availability with auto failover and support for AlwaysOn integration
• provides traffic management with load balancing, read/write split, query routing, and sharding
• offloads the database with surge protection, connection multiplexing, and query-response caching
• gives instant visibility and actionable insights with real-time SQL analytics
“When speaking to customers that are moving applications to the cloud, the conversations always coalesce around the same topics – application uptime and performance in connection with the database environment,” said Justin Barney, president and CEO of ScaleArc. “ScaleArc optimizes database capacity and uptime, offering AWS customers increased application performance. ScaleArc on AWS also helps organizations increase operational savings by avoiding the need for additional infrastructure and maintenance.”
ScaleArc for SQL Server is available for a complimentary 15-day trial from AWS Marketplace and works with SQL Server 2005, 2008/R2 and 2012. During the trial period, AWS infrastructure charges apply.
