As Weather Forecasters Predict a Second Snowpocalypse Scheduled for Atlanta, a Crisis PR Firm Offers Strategy to Create, Not Avert, City-Wide Meltdown
Atlanta (PRWEB) February 11, 2014 -- Devastated by the recent Snowpocalypse that recently struck Atlanta and the Southeast, the city once again finds itself on the verge of another winter ice-down this week. With global warming apparently losing its Southern compass and GEMA and the State of Georgia simply lacking the resources to keep bottlenecks off the road, a local public relations firm immersed in technology and innovation trends, wants to utilize one of the hottest movements in the country – crowdsourcing – to drive a citywide meltdown.
Calling on the Crowd
Trevelino/Keller, an Atlanta-based, national boutique public relations firm, is launching a crowdsourcing campaign to saltify Atlanta for the rest of the winter. Leveraging crowdsourced fundraising mainstay Crowdrise, the firm is asking veterans of the Northeast and Midwest as well as sympathizers of warmer, more fortunate climates, to help with the campaign.
Dollars raised will go to buy salt for the roads and streets around some of Atlanta’s critical nonprofits and shelters, including Mercy Housing Southeast, Atlanta Mission, Atlanta Day Shelter, Atlanta Children Homeless Shelter, Nicholas House, the Atlanta Community Food Bank and the American Red Cross Atlanta Chapter. In this first wave, the campaign is hoping to raise enough cash to buy at least 50,000 pounds of salt.
Trevelino/Keller is announcing the program in conjunction with the latest winter alert scheduled to potentially paralyze Atlanta Feb. 11-13. For more information about the crowdsourcing effort, visit http://www.crowdrise.com/ATLSaltDrive or search for the hashtag: #ATLSALTDRIVE.
