Alpharetta, GA (PRWEB) February 11, 2014 -- German endpoint security specialist, EgoSecure, acquired the full disk encryption brand, FinallySecure, from SECUDE AG, a Swiss software manufacturer. This bold move establishes EgoSecure as a “one-stop shopping” offering, which includes all key components of the solution portfolio, allowing extreme flexibility and response to new user requirements. For SECUDE, the spinoff is a logical step in focusing on the strategy to develop innovative security solutions for SAP environments.
“The decision to focus on the SAP security business with our new Halocore technology is the key business objective,“ explains Dr. Heiner Kromer, CEO of SECUDE. “Keeping the best interest of our FinallySecure customer base in mind, divesting FinallySecure was not an easy decision. It was very important for us to find a partner who is able to meet the extremely high expectations of our customers when it comes to quality, innovative power, and added value through the endpoint security focus, which EgoSecure offers.”
“By acquiring the full disk encryption solution by SECUDE, we can now offer one of the leading-edge products in this segment with an excellent customer base. As an endpoint security specialist, our plan is to continue to enhance the solution and to provide seamless integration with our other products. The combined technologies advance the effectiveness and usability of our all-round protection of sensitive data. The FinallySecure acquisition is one more important step on our way to expanding our global market position,” says Sergej Schlotthauer, CEO of EgoSecure.
Dr. Heiner Kromer sums it up: “The purchase price reflects years of continuous efforts to develop and enhance the FinallySecure solution. For us, it is important to have EgoSecure as a highly-qualified partner who is able to provide maintenance and update services to our existing customer base, while developing and enhancing the product."
Terms of the deal will not be disclosed.
All additional information on how the solution will be integrated with the EgoSecure product portfolio will be provided at the event of CeBIT in Hanover, starting on March 10, 2014, in Hall 12, booth C39.
