Getting these courses approved by the STC is great news for California agencies, and we look forward to having more approved in the future.
Cary, NC (PRWEB) February 12, 2014
Building on their extensive offerings for Corrections and Law Enforcement, Relias Learning, the online leader in specialized training, has added over 20 new courses approved by the Standards & Training for Corrections (STC). These courses address specific needs for California corrections organizations and are available through the Corrections Online Training Collaborative (COTC) — a partnership between Relias, the American Correctional Association, American Jail Association, and American Probation and Parole Association.
“We continually invest in our products and content to meet our clients’ needs,” says Jim Triandiflou, CEO of Relias Learning. “Getting these courses approved by the STC is great news for California agencies, and we look forward to having more approved in the future.”
The STC approved training will be available immediately for Relias customers such as the Napa County Department of Corrections which has 190 staff members currently using the system.
The new courses include over 40+ hours approved by the STC including:
- Blood-borne Pathogens
- PREA: Staff Roles and Responsibilities Under the Prison Rape Elimination Act
- Civil Liability and the Disciplinary Process in Corrections
- Contraband Detection
- Professional Ethics in Corrections
These courses, upon completion, are automatically sent to the STC through the Relias Learning Management System. This saves organizations a significant amount of reporting time typically devoted to filling out the manual spreadsheets on the STC website.
“All of our clients deserve an easy, cost-effective way to train,” explains Jim. “Our STC approved courses and reporting through the Relias Learning Management System helps improve the day to day of the dedicated officers and staff working in corrections organizations.”
