Norman, OK (PRWEB) February 13, 2014 -- Five years after the sudden and tragic death of his best friend, Dr. Robert Knox recovered from his catharsis and sat down to write a book about their relationship.
A modern-day, jocular commentary of male friendships, golf and romantic relationships, “Golf Balls are Female” follows Robert Knox and his 25-year relationship with Monte through the good, the bad and the inappropriate.
“Golf Balls are Female” reads like a scene from the popular Hollywood movie, “Swingers,” detailing a true, adult male friendship. The main character, Monte, desperately desires an idyllic relationship with a woman, and the majority of the story follows his trysts.
“Most everyone knows or has known someone who blindly jumps into relationship after relationship, only to be scorned and humiliated,” Knox said.
From golf outings and Oklahoma University vs. Texas football games, Knox’s book is humorous, yet oddly serious. The intimacy of this friendship gives an inner look into the male mind and the real emotions they experience throughout their lives, especially about women.
The name of the book lends to uncover the real habits of amateur golfers, the vast majority of who are actually very bad at the sport. The course is the setting for many of Knox and Monte’s conversations throughout their relationship.
