The partnership between AMD Global Telemedicine and US Telehealth supports the 600% increase in the number of inmates that need healthcare services in northern Louisiana’s state and parish prison facilities. AMD is providing the telemedicine equipment that resides onsite in the prison facilities and enables a remote physician to perform a patient exam. US Telehealth is orchestrating the physician services and clinic scheduling for routine check-ups, emergency consultations and scheduled visits.

These in-facility services reduce the need to take a prisoner to an outside medical facility for a clinical assessment, and help lower the risk of inmate escapes during medical transport.
