ATRS Partners with Rock 'N Roll Marathon Dallas to Promote Community Recycling
Dallas, TX (PRWEB) March 17, 2014 -- American Textile Recycling Service (ATRS) and Sports Authority have partnered to promote community recycling in Dallas, TX on March 21-23rd at the Rock 'N Roll Marathon Expo and Race Day. Through conveniently placed Clothing & Shoe Recyclers, both companies have pledged to create a cleaner, greener event in Dallas and raise funds to benefit two area hospitals in the Children's Miracle Network.
"Our textile recycling partnership with ATRS helps us do more for each of our host cities and their residents,” says Tracy Sundlun, Senior Vice President of Events and one of the founders of the Rock ‘N Roll Marathon Series. “By accepting recycling at the Expo and collecting dropped running gear from the course, we are serving both the City of Dallas and its residents. Run, Rock and Recycle!!!”
Attendees at the Health and Fitness Expo can drop off unwanted or used running gear, shoes and other household textiles for recycling into clearly marked bins at Sports Authority or the ATRS Recycling booth. Every participant that drops recyclables will receive a discount coupon for Sports Authority merchandise.
The Competitor Group announced recently that Dallas Rock 'N Roll Marathon will be the first marathon to feature local participant competitive prizes. This benchmark of local community involvement is strengthened by ATRS' commitment to Dallas community recycling at the event to support area charities. Every pound of recyclable material collected at the Expo, Start and Finish lines will directly benefit the Children's Miracle Network.
Look for ATRS Recycling and Children's Miracle Network volunteers at the Start Line and Corrals, collecting discarded warm up gear as the runners take off. This will effectively clear the course of dropped cloth and divert hundreds of pounds of unwanted textile waste from Dallas landfills.
