LSI will demonstrate a powerful, next-generation VDI appliance powered by LSI® Nytro™ flash cards and technology from Supermicro®, EMC® ScaleIO and VMware®

At VMware® Partner Exchange 2014, LSI will demonstrate the power of a new, high-performance virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) appliance specifically designed for VMware® Horizon View™ deployments. The demonstration will be at the Supermicro booth #421.

VMware Partner Exchange 2014 is the leading cloud infrastructure event for VMware partners. LSI has furthered its commitment to accelerating storage and networking by partnering with industry-leading technology providers Supermicro, EMC ScaleIO and VMware to create a next-generation VDI solution. It features LSI Nytro WarpDrive® 3.2TB PCIe® flash accelerator cards, Mellanox® ConnectX-3® 40GE NICs and Supermicro servers to address the needs of today’s virtual storage infrastructures.

Initial test results using the Login VSI benchmark have found that the capabilities of this powerful VDI solution are significant. They include:

  • Support for 1,000 desktops with average user response times under one second
  • Deployment of 1,000 virtual desktops in 1 hour and 28 minutes
  • Simultaneously boot 1,000 virtual desktops in 12 minutes
