IBTS Announces Affiliation with NYPA’s Energy Efficiency Innovation Collaborative (EE-INC) to Promote Emerging Technologies in New York
Ashburn, VA (PRWEB) February 13, 2014 -- IBTS has joined forces with the New York Power Authority (NYPA) and other members of a newly formed collaborative to improve energy efficiency in public buildings in New York State. The Energy Efficiency Innovation Collaborative (EE-INC) will support upgrades being spearheaded by NYPA under a comprehensive program introduced by Andrew M. Cuomo in December 2012 to improve the energy efficiency of state government buildings by 20 percent by 2020.
EE-INC is seeking commercial, but not yet widely deployed, energy efficiency technologies in support of Build Smart NY, which resulted from Governor Cuomo’s Executive Order 88.
IBTS will be deeply involved in the matching process of technologies with publicly-owned buildings. The first step of the process was launched on February 6 with the EE-INC website, which calls for manufacturers to register to participate in the program. IBTS has pulled together a team that brings different skill sets in evaluating technologies and matching appropriate projects to demonstrate energy efficiency. The IBTS team includes the National Renewable Energy Laboratory, Courtney-Strong Inc., QuES&T, CorAdvisors and Building Insight.
