Avamere Living at Berry Park Re-Opens After Extensive Building and Living Space Upgrades
Oregon City, Oregon (PRWEB) February 12, 2014 -- After nearly two years and $2 Million of interior renovations, Avamere Living at Berry Park is ready for its grand re-opening. The Independent and Assisted Living campus underwent extensive upgrades to living spaces, communal areas, and added a number of features such as a movie theater and billiards room.
“Avamere put a lot of time, thought and expense into this remodel,” says Nicolette Merino, Regional Director of Operations for the Avamere Family of Companies. “One of the highlights of the project is purpose-designed space. We took smaller living space – such as living rooms and small nooks – and completely redesigned them so residents have more options to gather and socialize.”
An example of this “purpose-designed” approach to older adult living is the Sundance Theater. The theater boasts large, plush chairs, a giant screen for residents to watch a favorite movie or experience an educational lecture from a visiting historian; and there is even fresh popcorn close at hand.
Built in the 1970’s, a number of the apartment spaces at Avamere Living at Berry Park still had the original trim, wood work, and fixtures. All of the resident apartments underwent a complete makeover. “We completely transformed the resident apartments,” says Wendy Wood, Executive Director of Avamere Living at Berry Park. “New carpet, new paint, new cabinets, new vinyl. We replaced doors, molding and trim were switched out; and so many other upgrades.”
The staff and residents of Avamere Living at Berry Park are excited to open their doors to the public. “Avamere is certainly proud of re-invigorating this property that has served the residents of Oregon City and surrounding communities for so long,” says Wood. “But it is so wonderful to hear from residents about how proud and excited they are to bring friends and families to see their new home and enjoy all of the great additions and upgrades we’ve made.
