The Green Resource Council has awarded Jill Schwartz the “Green Designation” from the National Association of Realtors (NAR). The National Association of Realtors has created NAR’s Green Designation to service the growing demand for “green” expertise in real estate.
Jill has furthered her green education by joining the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC), a committee comprised of architects, real estate agents, building owners, lawyers, building representatives and environmentalists that provide the foundation of LEED Green Building Rating System for all segments of the building industry.
Jill has also completed the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Green Building Certification Program and advanced training in five environmental categories, including: Sustainable Sites, Water Efficiency, Energy and Atmosphere, Materials & Resources and Indoor Environmental Quality.
“I have advanced my training in issues specific to green real estate as a Green Designee for NAR and as an eco-broker/eco-sociate,” explains Jill. “I can now assist home buyers with greener choices that help them to experience healthier indoor air quality and see the cost benefits of green upgrades and features through return on investments.”
Jill shares her knowledge of green materials, energy-efficient technologies, green building and product ratings, green design principles and insights with her clients, including her access to top industry resources and tools that create awareness for healthier living choices.
As a Green Ambassador for Long and Foster Real Estate, Jill has made green living her life’s work. She recently launched a green living website, http://www.greenlongandfoster.com, offering green building and decorating ideas, including a regular blog.
“When people are given choices, especially ones that create a healthier environment for their family, they are inspired to incorporate green building choices into their lives,” says Jill. Without even realizing they are doing it, they are prompting manufacturers and builders to offer these choices in their base packages for new construction and renovation projects.”
Her “green” accomplishments have forged the foundation for Jill Schwartz to become one of the industry leaders in real estate in the Maryland/DC region. Jill is an affiliate of Long and Foster’s Bethesda-Gateway office, which had over $1 billion in sales in 2012 and 2013. The office is the fifth largest Long and Foster office. Jill is the office’s number three agent, a member of the prestigious Founders Club with over $30 million in sales in 2013. She currently has listed a $5+ million spec home in Bethesda and a $1.3+ million home in Potomac.
Jill is licensed in Maryland, DC, Virginia and Delaware. Visit Jill’s website at http://www.GoGreenWithJill.com to preview her luxury properties. If you are considering a move this spring, contact Jill at (301) 758-7224.
