In Celebration of International Women’s Day, Join the Anne Frank Center USA for a Special Screening of Girl Rising, Tuesday March 25, from 6.30 to 8.30 p.m.
New York, NY (PRWEB) March 11, 2014 -- In honor of International Women’s Day, join The Anne Frank Center USA in celebrating brave women and girls everywhere. As part of the new Human Rights Film Series, a special screening of Girl Rising, followed by a Q & A with the film’s Campaign Outreach Manager, Lindsay Morris will be held at The Anne Frank Center.
Girl Rising is a global campaign to educate girls, and a groundbreaking feature film, released in 2013, about the strength of the human spirit, and the power of education to transform societies. The film presents the remarkable stories of nine girls around the world, and their struggle for education and freedom, as told by celebrated writers and narrated by renowned actors, such as Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway, Selena Gomez and others. The message is simple: Educate girls and the world will change.
Around the world, millions of girls face barriers to education that boys do not. And yet, when a girl is educated the cycle of poverty can be stopped in just one generation. Join The Anne Frank Center USA this March to find out how one girl with courage is a revolution.
The discussion will be followed by a Q&A and a reception.
