Baker Tilly Names Catherine J. Casey General Counsel
CHICAGO (PRWEB) February 13, 2014 -- Baker Tilly Virchow Krause, LLP (Baker Tilly) today announced the appointment of Catherine J. Casey as general counsel, effective immediately. In this role, Casey will be responsible for providing legal guidance to the firm’s board of partners and senior management, as well as overseeing the firm’s legal affairs and compliance operations, reporting to Managing Partner-Risk Jere G. Shawver.
“Cathy brings more than 20 years of legal experience to the firm, overseeing a wide variety of accounting, contractual and employment matters at both the federal and state level,” said Shawver. “Her expertise in professional liability risk, arbitration, litigation and compliance is a strong addition to our firm in this critical role.”
Prior to joining Baker Tily, Casey held roles as a litigation partner at DLA Piper and deputy general counsel at BDO USA. Casey is a graduate of Georgetown University Law Center and holds a bachelor’s degree from Princeton University.
