Ashley Furniture HomeStore (Jacksonville, Florida) Announces Additional Efforts to Help Finish Breast Cancer
Jacksonville, FL (PRWEB) February 13, 2014 -- Ashley Furniture HomeStores, official sponsor of the only national marathon to end breast cancer; the 26.2 with Donna, announces a unique way for the public to help and enter to win a shopping spree! Entrants don’t need to bring sneakers; just a smile to any one of the Ashley Furniture HomeStore locations in Jacksonville, Florida. Once entrants arrive at the store dressed with a touch of 26.2 “Donna” pink, they will locate a cozy spot, take a “Selfie,” post it, and be automatically entered for a chance to win a $2,620.00 Sleep Shopping Spree!
To date, Ashley Furniture HomeStores-Jacksonville’s efforts have raised more than $175,000.00 to finish breast cancer. Still, Howard Fineman, Ashley Furniture HomeStore CEO and Managing Member, says his team wanted to find a unique, fun way to celebrate and support this one-of-a-kind national marathon while raising awareness about the importance of sleep to good health.
“According to the CDC, sleep is increasingly being recognized as an essential aspect of chronic disease prevention. So we decided this “Selfie” campaign with the Sleep Shopping Spree was a great way to thank our customers, raise even more awareness for the 26.2 with Donna and remind people that a great night’s sleep makes you stronger.”
Ashley Furniture HomeStores in Jacksonville, Florida, are the exclusive venues available for entrants to the contest. All those wishing to enter should visit one of the Ashley Furniture HomeStore showrooms in Jacksonville or go directly to http://www.AshleyJax.com in February for contest details and tips on how to take the best “Selfie” possible. Fineman adds, “We’re excited at having found such an engaging way to encourage even more people to support the race. All you have to do is take a look at some of the 'Selfies' that people have already taken and I think it’s evident that this is really a fun way for everyone to make an even greater contribution to the 26.2 with Donna—and you don’t even have to be a runner to do it!”
Since Howard Fineman opened the first Ashley Furniture HomeStore in Jacksonville in 2005, the company’s community support programs continue to expand. In addition to its contributions to the 26.2 with Donna National Marathon to Finish Breast Cancer and the Donna Foundation, local Ashley Furniture HomeStores are involved with the Salvation Army, the Greater JAX Area USO, and the first of its kind program to provide free bedding for local children in need. Ashley Furniture HomeStores’ “A Hope to Dream” initiative is now active in hundreds of Ashley Furniture HomeStore locations nationwide and has provided more than 8,000 free beds to children in need.
