NJCAA Ice Hockey, Wrestling and Basketball Championships Ready for Prime Coverage on NJCAA TV
Colorado Springs, Colo. (PRWEB) February 13, 2014 -- After a very successful fall championship season, the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) is gearing up to broadcast select national championship events on its digital video network NJCAA TV (http://www.njcaatv.com), beginning Feb. 22nd with the semifinals of its 2014 NJCAA Men’s Ice Hockey Championship live from the campus of Hudson Valley Community College in Troy, N.Y.
Following a robust upgrade with its digital streaming partner Volar Video, NJCAA TV viewership increased dramatically in November 2013 during its live coverage of eight fall championship events compared to 2012. Viewership for all broadcasts from the organization’s four soccer and three volleyball championships increased by over 100 percent (%). The greatest increase was seen in viewers of the Division I Men’s Soccer Championship where 9,511 viewers watched Iowa Western defeat Tyler (Texas) in the finals, which was a 316 percent (%) increase from 2012. The NJCAA Football Championship Game at the Mississippi Bowl also saw a 133 percent (%) increase in viewership as 57,120 viewers witnessed the Lions of East Mississippi defeat Georgia Military.
“Since the launch of NJCAA TV in the fall of 2009, we have seen significant viewership growth year after year,” said NJCAA Assistant Executive Director Mark Krug. “We expect our numbers to continue to grow thanks to the network enhancements from Volar Video as well as the fact that NJCAA TV has one of the greatest products in the world to showcase – NJCAA Championships, where young men and women compete at the highest level in pursuit of the glory and prestige of a national championship.”
In addition to live coverage of this year’s semifinals and finals of the NJCAA Men’s Ice Hockey Championship, NJCAA TV will showcase the national finals of the NJCAA Wrestling Championships live March 1 from Spokane, Wash.
Throughout the month of March, NJCAA TV will provide live coverage of all 124 games from the NJCAA’s six basketball championship tournaments, beginning with the Division III ranks on March 13th. To assist viewers, NJCAA TV has created special access pages to the men’s basketball championships as well as the women’s basketball championships. These webpages also feature archived broadcasts from past NJCAA basketball championship tournaments that can be viewed at any time.
