Dr. Suzanne Jones has just unveiled her new book on the most innovative treatment options available today for varicose veins. As the Medical Director for Michigan Vein Care Specialists, Dr. Jones has spent years researching this painful and unsightly condition.
An estimated one in four adults is dealing with varicose and/or spider veins. Though they can be very unsightly, they can also cause some serious health concerns for sufferers. For instance, many patients complain of aching or cramping in their legs. This can be a throbbing or burning pain that persists regardless of what over-the-counter medications a patient might take.
According to Dr. Jones, “We see patients all the time who have been suffering excruciating leg pain for years and yet they were not aware of the latest treatment options. I established the Michigan Vein Care Center in 2012 because I knew that we could help these individuals.”
There are numerous risk factors associated with varicose veins, but patients most often seek help from a doctor simply because they are so embarrassed. Varicose veins appear as bulging, blue, rope-like veins protruding beneath the skin. They are usually accompanied by swelling and leg pain. Some patients report tingling or heaviness in their legs.
Women who are pregnant or having their menstrual cycle may notice an increase in these symptoms. In some cases, painful blood clots form known as thrombophlebitis. Dr. Jones comments, “We now have state-of-the-art treatments available that are much less invasive than those of past decades. In fact, a patient can come into the office on their lunch break and receive comprehensive varicose vein treatments for the swelling and pain. It is a much simpler procedure than most people think.”
Healthy Legs-The Definitive Guide to Treating Varicose Veins discusses the incredible advancements made in recent years. It offers patients and doctors the most timely and effective information available today for the treatment of varicose veins. Dr. Jones warns that with more and more people seeking help with this problem, it’s extremely important that the average person learn as much as possible before going to see a physician.
Dr. Jones concluded by saying, “My new book is really user-friendly. Though it would be an excellent resource for any physician, the average person will find the book easy to read and understand. We offer many common-sense remedies that can help alleviate the pain and swelling of varicose veins.”
