University of Puerto Rico at Mayagüez Launches Kuali Coeus in Partnership With Kuali Commercial Affiliate rSmart
Scottsdale, AZ (PRWEB) February 13, 2014 -- rSmart, a leader in enterprise resource planning (ERP) software for higher education, has partnered with University of Puerto Rico at Mayagüez (UPRM) to successfully implement Kuali Coeus. The new system will replace paper-based grant administration processes and allow users to construct and route complete proposals from their desktops.
In April 2013, UPRM began implementation of the Proposal Development module of Kuali Coeus. Dr. Marisol Vera, an experienced researcher and professor in the chemistry department, led the team. rSmart, a Kuali Commercial Affiliate, provided on-site consulting services to aid the team in meeting their project goals, timeline and budget. UPRM went live January 20 for all proposals with a submission deadline of February 1, 2014 or later.
“Bringing our new Kuali Coeus system into production was accomplished with a small but mighty staff and the technical and functional expertise of rSmart,” said Dr. Vera. “Our team also gained valuable skills and knowledge by attending Kuali Days in November 2013. I would like to thank the Kuali community for their openness to assist new adopters, in particular the kind collaboration of Ronald Gouldner from the University of Hawaii.”
In the coming weeks, Vera’s team will implement the Grants.gov S2S Submission module providing UPRM the ability to create and submit a grants.gov proposal system to system (S2S). The next phase of the project includes implementation of the Negotiations and Award modules and an upgrade to the latest version of Kuali Coeus.
Chris Coppola, rSmart CEO, commented “We are honored to have helped UPRM reach this milestone and go down a path for continued success with Kuali Coeus. This is also further evidence that Kuali can be an excellent fit for colleges and universities of all sizes thanks to the robust Kuali community and resources available.”
