Unveils Telling Statistics About Property Management Needs

Property investors come to seeking information about the best property management companies out there.

Property investors are not just investing their money into a piece of property; in many cases, they are also investing copious amounts of their time. This is because properties need management and maintenance, especially once they become filled with tenants. For this reason, property investors often elect to recruit professional property management companies, who can offer more efficient services and reduce the amount of time the investor has to spend doing maintenance and addressing tenant needs. Not all of these property managers turn out to offer satisfying services, however—and a new poll from reveals some of the reasons why.

The site’s founder, Jason Kay, explains the purpose of this new poll, in a statement to the press. “Property investors come to seeking information about the best property management companies out there—sometimes because they are hiring a professional manager for the first time, and sometimes because they are dissatisfied with their current service and wish to find a new one,” he says. “We wanted to find out what it is that makes some of these investors want to jump ship—what they dislike about their current property manager.”

The site’s most recent poll asked readers just that—what their biggest complaint was with their current property management company. The most frequent response was “Poor Communication,” which got nearly a third of all votes cast.

After that, 24 percent of respondents claimed that their current property management company failed to maintain the property well; 14 percent said their property manager was too expensive; and 7 percent called their property management company disorganized.

Meanwhile, 13 percent selected the “Other” option, and 9 percent of the survey respondents were currently between property management companies.
