Palm Springs California (PRWEB) February 14, 2014 -- Exclusive Premiere Collection Pop Up Gallery
Super Fresh Food Art Gallery exhibits “Tigers and Bears" - a debut show of new work by Lisa Quinn and West Coast photographer Matthew Carden.
Super Fresh Food Art Gallery presents "Tigers and Bears" - a debut show of new work by San Francisco Bay Area photographer Matthew Carden and paintings by Lisa Quinn This is a very limited engagement in Palm Springs, Ca.
The show, which runs from February 20 through February 22, includes two new series of photographs by Carden. “Bears" and “Dark Side Cola" each series uses common food items to create evocative landscapes while reshaping our vision of the everyday. For Quinn's New "Palm Springs Collection" she captures the feeling of Palm Springs with easy relaxed paintings with a touch of style and sarcasm. Quinn's work is humorous and thoughtful without being unapproachable. Her new collection is designed without being overly fussy keeping in line with the design aesthetic that first made her famous.
For the new series "Chocolate Bears" Carden explores the graphic and textural qualities of molten chocolate.
Through familiar shape associations, we can merge the ideas of wildlife, food, and the environment. All while enjoying the majestic beauty that is chocolate and bear.
It's the only mammal distinguishable by their shape and flavor.
And if don't keep things cool on earth, they too will melt away.
The shape is unmistakable, Polar, Black, Brown....
The flavors are undeniable, White, Dark, and Milk Chocolate!
The Gallery show and open house will take place in a mid-century modern home in Palm Springs. The show is in relation to Modernism week, a popular yearly show of modern era homes, furniture and art. The unusual gallery setting makes for a relaxing and party like atmosphere with drinks around the pool.

About the Artist: Matthew Carden
When was the last time we gave eating our full attention? Most of the time, we eat on the go, we eat while working, we eat with our eyes focused on a screen. We munch away distractedly, giving little or no thought to what we’re eating, let alone where it came from. It’s easy to take the foods that we eat for granted, both the bounty and variety that is readily available to us and the work it takes to grow, harvest, and prepare it. As an artist, my photographs tell stories through pictures--sometimes humorous, sometimes serious—but always rooted in our universal connection to food and each other. By using everyday ingredients, arranged in novel ways, I hope to give viewers that extra push to see the beauty of food.

Super Fresh Food Art Gallery is the first of its kind. Opened in Novato California In April 2012 its art is only food, food as a subject for art. In a limited engagement Super Fresh will debut new works in Palm Springs in an exclusive and unusual pop up Gallery.Super Fresh will also be featuring artists, Tom Matousek, Victoria Mimiaga, Caren Alpert, Patricia Doherty and Carolyn Tillie.
Super Fresh Gallery is pleased to announce the partnership with GreenBar Craft Distillery for this event.
GreenBar Collective represents the world's largest portfolio of handcrafted, organic spirits, including TRU vodkas and gin, CRUSOE rums, FRUIT LAB liqueurs, BAR KEEP aromatic bitters and IX tequila.
ORGANICS HELD THE KEY TO BETTER TASTING SPIRITS. Today, Greenbar Collective produces and distributes the world’s biggest portfolio of organic spirits — all made by hand with real ingredients.
The environment also benefits because the company uses lightweight bottles, 100% recycled labels and plants a tree for every bottle sold.
The vodkas are distilled through state-of-the art column stills that produce the purest spirits possible in only one pass, saving energy. The vodka is then filtered through activated charcoal, the most efficient filtering medium and combined with vapor-distilled water—the kind nature makes with clouds. Like everything at Modern Spirits, only real ingredients (no extracts) and hands-on techniques like zesting, slicing (and tasting) go into making the vodkas.
It's created by a small, Southern California-based company founded in 2004 by the husband-and-wife team Melkon Khosrovian and Litty Mathew whose mission is to make better spirits for a better planet. For more information, visit http://www.greenbar.biz/contact-greenbar.
