Emergency Medicine Scribe Systems Reveals New Company Name
(PRWEB) February 17, 2014 -- Emergency Medicine Scribe Systems (EMSS) will begin doing business as Medical Scribe Systems (MSS) in 2014, according to the company’s President and CEO, Garret Erskine.
“EMSS has made its name serving emergency departments nationwide, but we are quickly expanding our services into the outpatient and hospitalist markets,” says Erskine. “The new name lets the industry know that we can provide the same great service into any specialty where scribes may be needed.”
Medical scribes have quickly become a best practice for emergency departments by performing real-time data entry in the electronic medical record (EMR). This allows the doctor more time to focus on the patient without being distracted by entering data into a computer system.
MSS differentiates from its competitors by focusing on optimizing revenue cycle and improving clinical throughput, says Erskine.
“The EMR brings numerous challenges for providers accustomed to paper charting,” says Erskine. “Our scribes are trained EMR specialists, so providers can improve their interaction with patients and still have the most accurate, up-to-date charts.”
Medical scribes are typically pre-med students who use the position to gain first-hand experience working in a clinical environment.
