South Jersey Nonprofit Summit Announces Keynote Speaker
Wildwood, NJ (PRWEB) February 17, 2014 -- In these challenging financial times, nonprofits need to know how to do more with less. In this full day of learning designed specially for nonprofits, attendees will learn how to drive donations with email marketing, engage their donors, build their mailing list on Facebook and manage those all-important fundraising events! They will come away with inspiration and real solutions to grow their organizations and impact their community. The South Jersey Nonprofit Summit will take place Tuesday, February 25th, 2013 at the Greater Wildwood Chamber of Commerce, 3306 Pacific Avenue, Wildwood, NJ 08260 from 9am to 4pm. The summit is sponsored by the Greater Wildwood Chamber of Commerce and Constant Contact. The cost is $20.
The South Jersey Nonprofit Summit, is honored to announce that Dr. Laura Otten, Ph.D., Executive Director of The Nonprofit Center at LaSalle University's School of Business will be the summit’s keynote speaker. Dr. Otten will discuss Nonprofit Leadership in the 21st Century– Overcoming the Challenges of Technology and Social Media.
Dr. Otten has served as a consultant and instructor at the Nonprofit Center for more than 30 years. In that time, she has distinguished herself on both the national and local levels, as an expert in nonprofit leadership, governance, strategic planning, evaluation, and other aspects of organizational management. Since 2001, she has led the Center, integrating a commitment to best practices in all aspects of nonprofit operations, and solidified our educational model to provide in-depth, high quality learning experiences that make The Nonprofit Center unique among any other organizations in the region.
Norris Clark of Princeton Strategic Communications, and Deputy Mayor of Lower Township, will speak about The Benefits of Nonprofit / For Profit Partnerships– how they create added awareness for your cause and increase donations. Norris will discuss a number of successful local nonprofit / for profit partnerships.
Carolinn Pocher Woody of CPW Creative Communications will be discussing Using Social Media and Email Marketing for Social Good.
Dave Yunghans, Regional Development Director at Constant Contact will lead a session on Event Management for Nonprofits.

About Dr. Laura Otten: Laura Otten, Ph.D., has been Executive Director of The Nonprofit Center at LaSalle University’s School of Business, a management support organization that enhances the management and governance capacity of nonprofit organizations throughout the Delaware Valley, since 2001. She has been associated with The Center since 1985, as a consultant and instructor and director of evaluation and research. In 2013, she added to her responsibilities by developing and becoming first director of La Salle University’s new Master’s degree in Nonprofit Leadership.
She has since led the organization in developing innovative and expanded programs to meet changing community needs, raising quality standards, and fostering the development of applied research on nonprofit management issues. Laura also continues to work in the areas of board development, succession planning, and coaching directly with clients.
In addition, Laura is an Associate Professor, the current Director of La Salle’s new Masters in Nonprofit Leadership, the former Director of the Criminal Justice Program, as well as LaSalle's Women's Studies Program and Project on Justice and Society. Laura gained tenure in 1988 and has been recognized for distinguished teaching. Laura has several publishing credits, including the book, Women’s Rights and the Law (Praeger, 1993). She has also provided academic consultation to numerous organizations and publications, such as: Fund for the Improvement of Postsecondary Education, Criminal Justice Policy Review, Journal of Volunteer Administration, and Educational Testing Service
About Norris Clark: As the Managing Partner of Princeton Strategic Communications, Norris places 20 plus years in marketing communications and public affairs at the service of clients.
Most recently, Norris was appointed by the NJ State Board of Education to open the Family and Community Relations Office, directing constituent responses and community outreach, while forging stakeholder partnerships in support of an ambitious education reform effort. For years a successful promoter of the Jersey Shore, Norris’ work on behalf of clients has been awarded with the Brass Ring Award from the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions, the NJ Governor’s Tourism Award in 2010, and by the Hospitality Sales and Marketing Association International. Norris currently serves as Deputy Mayor of Lower Township.
